Azah Mohamad's career in the insurance industry spans across 19 years. She graduated from UITM with Diploma in Insurance and later from Caledonian University with a BA (Hons) in Risk Management in 1995. She started as a broking executive in 1996 with Willis Insurance Brokers (M) Sdn Bhd and later as a senior account manager with Etiqa Insurance & Takaful in 2004.

She managed major accounts such as New Zealand Dairy Board (now known as Fonterra Co-operatives Group), Danzasmal, Dunlop Slazenger, Thames Water plc, Balfour Beatty, the Marriott’s and many others ranging from manufacturing, automative, retails and services during her tenure with Willis. In addition, she also managed Kumpulan Perubatan Johor's hospitals and the Pan Pacific hotels insurance program. In the oil and gas sector, she helped to develop petrol stations insurance scheme for Shell retails and Caltex throughout Malaysia. Others in the same sector included Petronas and MISC Marine open cover.

Her key responsibility with Etiqa Takaful in the Broker Management, Enterprise Corporate division was managing the relationship with brokers and their key clients.
