Helmmy started his career in 2000 in the Insurance Broking industry with a multinational company. His stint there lead him to handled vast type of risks including both Hydro and Coal Fired Power Plant, Highways, Financial Institutions, and the Bar Council Liability Scheme.
By 2004, Helmmy started specializing in Liability, Marine and Financial Institution insurance, risk management, claims management and advisory when he joined the top 5 global brokers.
Among his accomplishment includes, managing the insurance program for 10 banks in the country and advising them on their risk transfer program and manage their claims. Further to that he was involved in the merger and acquisition as well of the integration insurance program between the second biggest bank in the country from the operational matters, liability and human resource matters. He conducted Risk Insurance Gap Analysis (RIGA) assessment with various local banks. Helmmy’s accomplishment went further by developing the first fully Syariah compliance Bankers’ Blanket Bond, Electronic Computer Crime, Financial Institution Professional Indemnity for the leading Islamic Banks in the country.
His stint in the Financial Institution sector leads him to manage claims and conduct advisory for financial fraud from insurance perspective. He has handle claims of financial fraud exceeding RM 30 million and up to RM 1 billion on a syndicated fraud among the local and foreign banks in the country.
For Marine Insurance, his concentration is in the Hull and Machinery where he manages among the biggest fleet of Offshore Support Vessel in the country. He manages their operational program, liability exposure and claims with third parties and ship builders. His exposures brought him to manage claims that was heard in the Admiralty Court.
As his key arrears are off expertise is Liability, Helmmy has handled insurance and risk management program for Regulators and Promoters of ICT in the country. He has managed risk management and cyber security insurance program for Government Data Centers.
Besides his specialised arrears above, his experience has brought him to handle Oil and Gas support business, Petrochemical Industries and Pharmaceutical Industries to name a few.
