Raja Zailan Putra bin Raja Dato' Seri Haji Azam has been in the insurance industry for over 42 years of which 32 years have been with the broking sector.

Prior to joining MIT he was a Senior Vice President of an international insurance broking company, heading the Specialty Division which services Large and Specialize Risks particularly IPPs and Infrastructure Construction and Operational Programs, Marine Hull and Energy. Some of major clients include TNB, TNB Janamanjung, Penang Port, Kuantan Port, STORM Tunnel Construction, SPLASH, ProLintas, SHELL etcs. Previous to that has held senior positions in several local and international insurance broking corporations based in Malaysia. He is also prominently involved in the Malaysian Insurance and Takaful Brokers Association (MITBA), The Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII) and the Islamic Banking Financial Institute of Malaysia (IBFIM). He is fully conversant with the domestic and international Insurance market.
